Confusing?
There are differences in the way that local Arnica groups operate. Some seem to have one or more "leaders" and operate by email/telephone. They do not have Facebook groups. Sometimes the leaders will announce events on their own websites or Facebook pages.
Others seem to operate most via Facebook groups, most of which are "closed". Their content is not visible to non-members. It is necessary to join them to see the content. Homeopaths are admins or moderators of these groups.
Local groups and Facebook groups aren't necessarily the same people involved.
Hopefully the distinction is clear in the text.
Some homeopaths are likely members of other anti-vaccination closed Facebook groups. See this article from The Sun but the situation in the US is likely much worse. Infiltrating such groups is time consuming and can be quite difficult - there is more awareness that infiltration does go on, so groups have become more suspicious of people trying to join. What has happened in some cases is that Facebook has shut down groups that promote extreme anti-vaccination propaganda, especially if money is being made.
Alliance of Registered Homeopaths
The Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (ARH) and its members tend to be ignored in media reports. This is partly because the SoH is more visible and a lot more sensitive to criticism. The ARH simply doesn't care. It doesn't have a position on homeoprophylaxis and vaccination (indeed, Kate Birch, mentioned below spoke at their 2018 conference). Membership of Arnica Group isn't going to register as a problem. It's unlikely to change its ways as a result of media scrutiny.
As previous posts have pointed out, ARH members tend to be more extreme in their views that SoH members (but not as extreme as those who belong to no associations). Some of these homeopaths have been mentioned before because they offer CEASE therapy. It's possible that some are under investigation by Trading Standards.
Andrea Dell
Curiously, although Dell offers CEASE therapy, she does not seem to have been mentioned on this blog. Dell's entry on the CEASE therapy website reads -
Andrea studied Homeopathy at the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy (UK Branch) in London and subsequently qualified as Homeopath. She holds the Diploma of the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy (I.A.C.H.). Andrea is registered with the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (ARH) and a Member of the Register of Homeopaths. In addition to her homeopathic training in London she has been studying with Prof. George Vithoulkas at the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy in Alonissos since 2006. Prof. Vithoulkas is the world’s leading homeopath and teacher, who received the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize, in 1996 for upgrading Classical Homeopathy to the standard of a science . Andrea continues her professional training on a regular basis. In October 2011 Andrea attended Dr. Paul Herscu's Seminar "The Treatment of Autism & Neurological Disorders" and qualified in the same month as Certified CEASE Therapist. Andrea has used CEASE Therapy as part of Homeopathic Treatment in children on the Spectrum as well as patients with ME/CFS or other longstanding modern diseases, especially after extensive use of pharmaceutical drugs. Since May 2012: "Predictive Homeopathy - Beyond Limits" by Dr. Prafull Vijayakar, Germany. Dr. Vijayakar combines his knowledge of the modern medical sciences (particularly genetics, physiology, psychology and biochemistry) with the knowledge of classical homeopathy.
The Right Livelihood Award is presented by some as alternative Nobel Prize but it really isn't. Herscu is a US naturopath - use of the title "Dr" is problematic.
Dell's website Consultation page reveals extra charges for CEASE therapy remedies. Her Qualifications page reveals that she did CEASE training back in 2011. This story from the Swindon Advertiser mentions Dell but does she did not reply to them.
Dell is a leader of the local Bath and North East Somerset Arnica group. Dell's personal Facebook page reveals the posting of anti-vaccination propaganda.
Carolyn Stevens
Stevens has featured on this blog but not just because of CEASE. The ASA ruled against her website featuring the bizarre Asyra machine that supposedly can detect all sorts of issues (including made up ones) as well as being able to (radionically) make remedies.
Stevens' For Parents webpage makes some mention of vaccination, includes links to dubious websites as well as plugging a book by Trevor Gunn. Gunn is very anti-vaccination and discussed below.
Stevens is a leader of the local Saffron Walden Arnica group.
Emma Colley
Colley is mentioned here in the context of promoting homeopathy and not having much of a grasp of advertising regulation or consumer protection legislation. Colley has promoted social media as a way of homeopaths promoting their own business and so on. Colley has written articles for the SoH magazine and has offered "training".
Colley has openly offered CEASE therapy in the past and was upset by the ASA enforcement letter. It is this response to the Sunday Times articles that is illuminating. It contains a lot of whataboutery and veers off on several tangents but -
The Times yesterday ran a piece on how homeopaths are endangering lives, pushing "useless alternatives to vaccines". Dawn, one of the featured homeopaths in it, shares her response here. It's funny how the arguments have changed against homeopathy - initially it was that it didn't work, now that because it doesn't work we're endangering lives. And sometimes it's that homeopathic products are dangerous - even as far as being called biohazards in a recent Sunday Times piece.
It's not an argument I find myself wanting to be dragged into, yet we seem to be getting dragged into it nonetheless. And I know no homeopaths, despite having been a homeopath for 12 years, travelled internationally within homeopathic circles and met many others, I know of no homeopaths who "push" anything. I do know of people who come to homeopaths (including those working in the medical professions) because they feel sure that their child regressed after having had vaccines (an idea it seems currently essential to suppress hence the recent article against Alan Freestone - his response is here), and practitioners look at the whole case, as they would with any person in front of them, and ideally are able to help find improvements. Not every time. And this too seems to be a stumbling block. Tell me what medical field does everything every time? Vaccination, it seems, doesn't either, from recent reports of outbreaks being from vaccinated individuals. Again I'm keen not to get into a big discussion, but I do want to offer that any medical procedure is not without risk. Any way of living life is not without risk, and we should all carefully consider that. My beef, if I have one, is that frequently the 'shadow side' of vaccines are not shown - whether that be for financial incentive, as some suggest, fear that uptake would be lower or that parents would make the 'wrong' choice. But there is no mention of any risk associated with them, only with not having them. Which intrigues me. More about that below from a medical colleague.
What I think I'm curious about too is there is a story that's not being told, and a media hysteria going on which is interesting to observe. In my perception there's a truth not being told and a denial that harm can occur from the route that's commonly being "pushed". My newsfeed on Facebook is filled with harrowing stories from those who are sharing that side of the story. It breaks my heart. Perhaps there's no incentive to share those more widely, in the national press, which asks further questions. Is Colley typical of how homeopaths think? There is ample of evidence of UK lay homeopaths promoting all sorts of ideas that are unsafe. Colley mustn't have met a homeopathy who has signed up to multi-level marketing scam.
UK media reporting of health stories still isn't as good as it could be but perhaps lessons have been learned from their role in Wakefield/MMR fiasco.
Heather Melville
Melville appears on this collective website. Her entry does not contain anything on vaccination, homeoprophylaxis, etc and only a tiny mention of CEASE. However, her Facebook page does reveal anti-vaccination propaganda.
Stevens is a leader of the local Bangor Arnica group.
Lynne Shrubb
Shrubb is mentioned here but would have appeared to have removed the page on CEASE therapy from her website.
Shrubb makes mention of a now retracted and thoroughly debunked study here that claimed to show unvaccinated children were healthy than vaccinated. Shrubb looks not to have made much use of her now locked Twitter account but the feed on her website contains anti-vaccination propaganda.
Melissa Wakeling
Wakeling is discussed here. Wakeling is important because of the ASA ruling against her advertising of CEASE therapy but worse, Wakeling offers homeoprophylaxis.
The Guardian report on CEASE and homeoprophylaxis mentions Kate Birch and Free and Healthy Children Internation (FHCI). Wakeling is a member. She seems to have been involved in this event. What turn out it got is unknown. Curiously, Wakeling makes little mention of homeoprophylaxis on her website but the fees are expensive.
It is not clear where the remedies used in the FHCI homeoprophylaxis programme come from. Unless the products are going straight from a pharmacy that manufactures them to clients, illegality is involved.
Wakeling is a leader of the local Teddington Arnica group along with (very likely) Nasifa Mustafa. The combination of Arnica Group and homeoprophylaxis in not a good one.
Nikki Redmond
Redmond offers CEASE but says nothing about other than having a "qualification".
Redmond was an administration/moderator for SE3 Arnica Facebook closed group. However, something seems to have happened - the group no longer seems to exist. Her Facebook page does contain anti-vaccination propaganda.
Rachel Roberts
This is not the same Rachel Roberts as mentioned here. This Roberts has a website but her Facebook page is something else. It links to some extreme anti-vaccination propaganda.
Roberts is a leader of the local Donisthorpe Arnica group.
Sally Tamplin
Tamplin would appear to be based in the US these days. Tamplin is listed on the FHCI website.
Sandra Germay
Germay is mentioned here. Germay has removed mention of CEASE from her website. Her Facebook page contains anti-vaccination propaganda. Germay is also listed on the FHCI website.
Germay is a leader of the local Fulham Arnica group.
Sian Collister
Collister's offering of CEASE therapy was discussed at length. Nothing seems to have changed on her http://www.ceasetherapyhomeopathy.co.uk website.
Collister is a leader of the local East Herts Arnica group.
Susan Terry
Terry was discussed here.
Terry is an admin of the closed Facebook group Arnica Cornwall. Her own Facebook page links to anti-vaccination propaganda.
Thierry Clerc
Clerc doesn't offer CEASE therapy. The language on his website is curious. "Registered Health Practitioner" and "Clinical Homeopathy" and this About page could be read in a way that implies Clerc is a doctor or at the least does homeopathy in the same way that doctors do. Also, whilst "nutritionist" is not a protected title in the UK, he is not on the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists register, nor has he completed a recognised course. He could not get a job as a nutritionist with most employers. His qualification in "nutrition" seem odd. The College of Practical Homeopathy doesn't seem to currently offer anything and nor does the Bioforce Institute.
His website does make mention of vaccination and his involvement with the local Cambridge Arnica group. He is an admin for the Cambridge Arnica - Natural Immunity for Children and Adults Facebook group - along with Melanie Tomsett (see below). Unlike most other Arnica Facebook groups, this one is public (but possibly not for long). As might be expected, there is a lot of anti-vaccination posted there, sometimes by Clerc or Tomsett but there are a lot of posts about homeopathy. There is some boosting of Clerc and Tomsett's business too.
Others
As might be expected, they are a bit of rag bag. Something interesting to note is that some of these homeopaths were members of the SoH or ARH. Why they left is unknown. Some are members of other associations.
Some of these practitioners are unlikely to be deterred by ASA rulings, enforcement letters or media reports. Some may even ignore Trading Standards letters and would be prepared to be up in Court. This is one reason that changes to legislation are suggested.
Alison Williams
Something odd has happened to Williams' website. Archived versions don't reveal very much. Williams is involved with a low cost homeopathy clinic in Telford. Williams used to be a member of the ARH. Her Facebook page contains anti-vaccination propaganda.
Williams is a leader of the Telford local Arnica Group.
Alan Freestone
Given that Freestone is under investigation and may face prosecution, it would be unwise to say very much.
However, although Freestone does not appear to be a member of Arnica, he has social media links to anti-vaccination extremists.
Carmel O’Dell
O'Dell says -
As a mother I have developed a particular interest in children's health, and help co-ordinate the Arnica Parent’s Support Network in Brighton & Hove. Arnica is a non-profit making, parent-led, national support network, and its main aim is to promote health and natural immunity. More details can be found on their website.O'Dell is also an admin for the Arnica Sussex closed Facebook group. Her own Facebook page contains anti-vaccination propaganda.
Claire Zarb
Zarb's website doesn't mention vaccination but elsewhere Zarb mentions treating "vaccine reactions". If this is code for "vaccine injury" then it's problematic. Minor reactions to vaccination are not uncommon but are so generic it seems odd to mention them. It is certainly the case that no lay homeopath would be able to treat anaphylactic shock. It's not always clear if homeopaths mean more than what appear to be mild claims.
Zarb doesn't offer CEASE therapy but does talk a lot about "detox" using homeopathy (here in particular). It's a bogus claim but then most detoxification claims are.
Zarb is an admin for the Arnica Streatham/West Norwood Natural Immunity Group closed Facebook group.
Charlotte Batchelor
Batchelor is discussed here. Batchelor offers both CEASE therapy and homeoprophylaxis. Indeed, Batchelor is a member of FHCI. It seems Batchelor has removed some of the claims that she made for homeoprophylaxis, but mention of is made her fees page.
Kirsty Terry
Terry is an actual Registered Nutritionist yet she seems have succumbed to the Asyra machine and offers all sorts of other bogus treatments. This page is deeply concerning as it promotes homeoprophylaxis.
It's not clear if Terry actually offers homeoprophylaxis but promoting it is unlikely to be compatible with being a Registered Nutritionist or seeking employment as such.
Jayne Donegan
Donegan is infamous. Donegan is a doctor and member of the Faculty of Homeopathy (FoH). She has been the subject of a GMC hearing, likes to play the victim card a lot and is a frequent speaker at local Arnica group and other events including a conference run by Homoeoprophylaxis: A Worldwide Choice (HPWWC). It is not clear if HPWWC is a rival to FHCI but it would appear to have very few providers listed compared to FHCI.
Donegan is definitely anti-vaccination. Her biography from the HPWWC makes for interesting reading, not just because it is a gross misrepresentation of what really went on. To quote -
In 2002 Dr Jayne Donegan acted as an expert witness for two mother who had not vaccinated their children, in a court case brought by two absent fathers who were applying an order to force vaccination against the mothers’ wishes. The mothers lost their case in 2002 and their Appeal in 2003. One of the the Appeal Judges Lord Justice Sedley, described Dr Donegan’s evidence as ‘Junk Science.’ This resulted in the General Medical Council, UK, accusing her of Serious Professional Misconduct the following year, with the aim of striking her off the Medical Register and stripping her of her licence to practice. It took three long years to bring her case to a hearing, lasting three weeks in 2007, at which she was, contrary to expectations, completely exonerated.
Dr Donegan will describe her case, her defence organisation’s advice that it was indefensible, plea bargaining with the GMC to keep her licence if she admitted all the charges - she refused – which lead to her legal team withdrawing all their services six weeks before the hearing, having to find her own lawyer, build a new team, construct a new case and the result.
She will also briefly describe her experience with homeoprophylaxis in her UK practice. Here is the case mentioned. Homeoprophylaxis is effectively prohibited by the FoH (not that they ever do anything about it). What the GMC would make of her offering homeoprophylaxis is unknown.
Donegan's website is strange. It makes no mention of her use of homeoprophylaxis though.
Donegan also puts out booklets about nursing children through vaccine preventable diseases. Obviously, contracting a vaccine preventable disease is unnecessary suffering but there is also an economic consideration. The burden of childcare still falls mainly on women. Many employers do not have particularly progressive policies about women taking time off work to care for sick children. Some way be lucky enough to have a friend or relative to take care of the child during working hours, even luckier ones may have some kind of paid home help. Arguments about productive working hours lost to the UK economy are sometimes over played. But this does hint at something that will be discussed below.
Kelda White
It's unclear if White offers CEASE therapy - she does talk about it here without naming it.
The homeopathic method as applied in the treatment of vaccination damage consists of administering four successive remedies of the suspected vaccine. Each course consists of the following dilutions 30, 200, 1M and 10M. The duration of a remedy course depends on the severity of the problems and the reactions of the patient and can vary from 2 weeks to 2 months. Potencies should be repeated until no further improvement is seen before passing to the next potency. This method was introduced byTinus Smits. Click here to see case studies and further information. There are other anti-vaccination articles on her website too. There is a page on Arnica group which contains a link to Natural Parenting Group public Facebook group. White is an admin. She is also listed as leader of the Arnica local group. White's own Facebook page also contains anti-vaccination propaganda.
Lesley Jeffreys
Jeffreys is listed on the CEASE therapy website by makes no mention of it on her website, nor does she link to it. There was at least one listing on a directory website that did but it has been removed. Jeffreys does have a page on Detoxing though that uses language used in both CEASE therapy and HDT. This -
After an MMR detox of a young boy with symptoms of autism -
“We have seen big improvements when it comes to eye contact and social engagement with us. He’s singing and trying to talk to my mum’s pet budgie. There are more words emerging. He still gets excited occasionally but not as bad as he used to be. Tip toeing has more or less stopped. Very, very happy parents. Thank you.”
Jeffreys is leader for the Aberystwyth Arnica local group.
Margaret Haynes
Haynes is discussed here but seems to have left the ARH since that was written. She still offers CEASE therapy and her website does not seem to have changed very much if at all.
Haynes is leader of the Kings Langley Arnica local group.
Marilyn Hole
Hole does not seem to have a website but her Facebook page describes her as homeopath and doula. The timeline is uninformative.
Hole is admin for the Arnica Worthing closed Facebook group.
Melanie Tomsett
Tomsett was discussed here but seems to have left the SoH at some point. There has been no change to her ad on Yell but there do seem to have been changes to her website.
As mentioned above, Tomsett is an admin for the Cambridge Arnica - Natural Immunity for Children and Adults Facebook group. Her Facebook page contains anti-vaccination propaganda.
Mind Body Clinic
It was featured in the Sunday Times story about homeoprophylaxis. The website is very strangely worded.
There are two practitioners there Saqib Rashid and Daniel Escorcia.
The clinic's founder, Saqib Rashid (BSc., MSc., DHM [BIH], NDTP), is a fully qualified & experienced homeopath and microDNA therapist. He has attained a BSc. degree, and later a MSc. degree in physics. He achieved his post-graduate diploma in Homeopathic medicine (DHM), from the British Institute of Homeopathy, Egham, Surrey. The British Institute of Homeopathy is affiliated and accredited with many world famous organizations and institutes in the field of medicine and in homeopathy. The British Institute of Homeopathy (BIH) has not been based in Egham for many years. BIH is now a correspondence outfit operating out of the US. It appears not be accredited or affiliated with any organisation now. This might have been different in the past when it was in the UK and Trevor Cook was in charge.
Saqib is a member of the following organizations:
- Directory of NHS trust association for complementary practitioners, www.nhsdirectory.org.
- Complementary Therapists Association UK, www.complementary.assoc.org.uk.
- Embody, the largest online directory of Complementary health and Beauty Salons, Clinics, Spas, Health Centres and individual Therapists in the UK and Ireland.
The NHS Trusts' Association in its Mike Dixon incarnation is long gone as its directory of CAM practitioners. The Complementary Therapists Association have a different website now and Embody is actually the searchable register of the CThA. Rashid doesn't seem to be on it.
Also -
Saqib is now eligible to take a PhD course in Homeopathic medicine, with Westbrook University in the United States of America. He is passionate to treat his patients holistically under the strict guidelines of homeopathic practice. His special interest in homeopathy is to treat children who are suffering with problem like Autism (ASD), Asperger's syndrome ADHD, dyslexia, issues of retarded growth and people with medically unexplained symptoms or illnesses, and those who did not achieve great results from other forms of treatment. Saqib currently runs a successful homeopathic practice in Wimbledon, South West of London.Westbrook University is a diploma mill.
Rashid is director of Homeovitality Company Limited. One former director is Dr Peter Kay - who is not a medical doctor and likely retired now. The website is bizarre. The accounts of the company suggest that is largely inactive.
Daniel Escorcia.I am a professional homeopath. I have adopted Homeopathy as a specialty that allows me to use holistic therapies, which can treat each patient individually. Added to that, I am certified in therapy CEASE "Complete Elimination of Autistic Spectrum Expression" effective methodology to treat autism, attention deficit and Hyperactive disorder at all levels of severity, on which I integrate to another innovative modality, " Homeopathic MicroDNA therapy". My motivation is that everyone can benefit from the emerging scientific discoveries that are used to optimize, promote health and protection against disease.
My preparation and progress I have held in the capital of the United Kingdom (London), achieving recognition as one of the few Homeopaths Medical Spanish speakers, which is constantly updated on all the trends and revolutionary treatments . Able to share my knowledge I have never taken as limiting by distance and geography. Through telemedicine and / or video-consultations I have been able to address cases with excellent results. Now I am practicing in a constant growing network with patients in: Canada, United States, Ireland, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, Spain, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador.
His Facebook page is in Spanish and basically repeats the above but does seem to suggest that Escorcia may have a BSc in Homeopathy from the University of Westminster although he never explicitly states this.
The homeopathic DNA stuff is peculiar but it is the CEASE therapy and homeoprophylaxis (or Homeopathy M&B - presumably mother and baby) that are of concern. The website doesn't work very well. Menus, internal links don't always end up where you expect them. The website will sometimes pop up a disclaimer re homeoprophylaxis depending on navigation etc.
At The Mind Body Clinic, we follow the Department of Health guidelines on immunisation and recommend that immunisation be carried out in the normal way unless there are medical contra indications. It's difficult be entirely sure but whilst the website has homeoprohylaxis on its menu etc and the prices are shown, it would seem the actual content has been removed.
We only advise about Homeoprophylaxis to our clients who are well informed and want to make their own decisions and choices regarding the immunisation of their loved ones and for themselves.
Rita Kara Robinson
Some would view Robinson as a menace to public health. It is difficult not to feel angered by her if you have suffered from cervical cancer or have lost a relative to it.
This page is awful.
I am one of the world’s leading homeopaths detoxing the HPV vaccine.I have covered almost 200 cases to date in 2017 and am very familiar with the possible side effects that can occur. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have an official diagnosis of vaccine injury or if you are currently on medication. If you know the symptoms started after the vaccine then you can use the detox program. They may have started that day or weeks or months later.Homeopathy works alongside conventional medicine. It gets worse -
In all cases the organs need lots of support as they have stopped working efficiently. The liver, kidney, heart, lungs and spleen can all be effected. The way you describe your symptoms will highlight which organs need to be addressed.
I support and feed the organs and then detox the vaccine over 2 months. Sometimes this is all that is needed to bring back the patient to full health.
Other times other medicines need to be detoxed as they are causing problems, for example the Pill which can lead to headaches, period problems, anxiety and fatigue. This is often prescribed after the HPV vaccine has caused menstrual difficulties but actually compounds the problem in the vast majority of cases.
Some have had other boosters alongside the HPV vaccine which need to be detoxed. Antibiotics, steroids, painkillers all can be detoxed and layers of the problem lifted.
What causes a lot of pain is damage to the nerves and this is because heavy metals accumulate in nervous tissue – these don’t drain easily as they don’t produce secretions or excretions so they need repairing. This causes shooting pain, sensitivity, spasms, seizures, scoliosis. This can be helped by feeding the nerves with a nerve mix I have created and detoxing the substances that started the problems. And more -
Why can't I get a diagnosis?Conventional medicine do recognise vaccine damage caused by vaccines however this is very rare.It is not in their interests to do so.If there is widespread news of vaccines causing damage there will be a drop in the number of people consenting. It does not cause damage in all people, so this is hard to prove.
And more -
Do you need blood tests, hair tests, etc? These are not vital and will not affect my case taking. If you have already had tests done then you can email me the results. If you are having periodic blood tests then we can use them to monitor progress.
It is difficult to know where to begin. Neither Gardasil nor Cervarix contain heavy metals. Aluminium is not a heavy metal is used in very small amounts, certainly less than consumed via food. Aluminium hydroxide has very low toxicity and is not only used as an adjuvant in some vaccines but also as an antacid!
To be clear, UK cervical cancer statistics whilst improving, dwarf those of other vaccine preventable diseases. There were 854 deaths in 2014. It is believed that 99.8% cases are preventable. Human papillomavirus infection (HPV) causes more than 90% of cases; most people who have had HPV infections, however, do not develop cervical cancer. Vaccines do not protect against all the strains that can potentially cause cancer but do against the most common. Vaccines also protect against other HPV caused types of cancer. Because they do not protect against all strains, there is still a need for screening.
Vaccination of both female and male children has the potential to eliminate the most common strains of HPV, drastically reducing both morbidity and mortality. It will take time to show up but there are signs that HPV vaccination is already having an effect.
Anti-vaccination propaganda re HPV vaccine is especially toxic even compared to "vaccines cause autism".
There is also an Autism page.
I love dealing with autism cases – because the scope for healing is immense. I see the power of detoxing daily and it is a priviledge to be part of watching these children unfold like rosebuds.
I have seen them begin to talk, regain speech, develop understanding and begin to play with toys – it’s so exciting to hear about how their teachers at school have noticed big changes whilst completely unaware that they are doing a homeopathic detox.
Homeopathy is so much easier than supplements, gentler than chelation and more effective than other therapies. Well, from my first-hand experience for sure.
Many parents speak of their children changing their behaviour after a specific vaccine. Other parents say there were problems from birth.
Depending on the perceived cause, there are two ways to treat this homeopathically.
If vaccines are thought to be the cause – then you can detox those vaccines with one of my detox programs.
I also use classical prescribing where I choose 1 or 2 remedies that fit the whole picture.
Information linking autism with vaccines is growing rapidly and widely available on the web.
Her About page is equally as problematic. Robinson states that she is vaccine injured herself.
Robinson also works with two other homeopaths. Kathryn Voss is a member of the SoH.
Rosemary Lawrence
Lawrence's website is odd.
Lawrence is admin for the North Devon Arnica closed Facebook group. Her husband and possibly other relatives are involved in that and other Arnica groups.
Sally Lloyd
Lloyd claims to be an "Autism Specialist" and to TREAT CHILDREN WITH AUTISM NATURALLY. Note the children with autism rather than autistic children. Identity first language is probably something lost of the likes of Lloyd.
Sally Lloyd is an autism specialist working globally using homeopathy and homeopathic detox therapy to help autistic children recovering from metal toxicity through gentle, empirical methods.Again, so much is wrong that it is difficult to know where to start but possibly the most telling thing about Lloyd's website is that the Autism, Causes menu selection links to this - a post on a blog by J. B. Handley, a very well known anti-vaxxer. Handley is infamous for stating "To our community, Andrew Wakefield is Nelson Mandela and Jesus Christ rolled up into one. He’s a symbol of how all of us feel." That post quotes the discredited work of Christopher Exley.
Lloyd offers Hair Mineral Analysis. The examples reports on her website reveal two options in terms of labs to carry out the tests. One is Mineral Check Limited which appears to use a domestic property in rural Kent. It may use tests from Trace Elements Inc or may ship to them. It certainly doesn't look like it has the room for a sizeable laboratory. Mineral Check is discussed here. The other lab is Regenerus but they say -
We don't analyse any tests ourselves, we simply facilitate easy access between you and the very best laboratories from around the world. The sample lab report is actually from Doctor's Data Inc who are notorious for pursuing a legal case against Dr Stephen Barrett (discussed here - along with misuse of these tests in the UK).
It's difficult to track down exactly what Lloyd does but here after knocking various forms of chelation she says -
Our bodies know what to do with minerals when our bodies are working well. They will eliminate what should be eliminated and assimilate what should be assimilated.
We use minerals [metals] in homeopathic potency to stimulate or challenge the body to correct its handling of those minerals.
ie. Studies of Arsenic detox:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1297497/
http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/096032718700600408
If you have a tendency to accumulate calcium [ie, calcium deposits to the skeleton where they should not be – bone spurs, or under the skin] homeopaths will likely prescribe some form of calcium in homeopathic dilution. If you have poor calcium uptake and assimilation leading to osteopenia or tooth decay etc, they’ll use some form of calcium in an attempt to cause your body to correct its relationship with calcium.
If you accumulate iron and fail to excrete excess they’ll most likely prescribe iron in some homeopathic form. If you are anemic the intervention is almost identical.
If you are low or high in copper, copper in homeopathic dilution can be prescribed in an attempt to balance your copper. Zinc, other essentials.
If you have high arsenic, lead, mercury, aluminium, etc … they’ll prescribe these metals in homeopathic potency to attempt to stimulate the excretion of them.
There is a good amount of scientific data going back to the 1940s showing that nano-dilutions of arsenic [homeopathic dilutions] cause the excretion of arsenic to restart after animals have stopped being able to excrete arsenic they had been given [horrid test I agree!] See above.
Frequently, children with autism have high levels of numerous toxic metals and we can use a poly metals detox where this is the case, when necessary.Very worrying are the case studies and testimonials. They include videos. Lloyd
Lloyd has a page The Case for Homeoprophylaxis. It isn't clear if she actually offers homeoprophylaxis but -
You may not want to entirely avoid all diseases, even by gaining immunity through homeoprophylaxis.Childhood diseases are important for developing and maturing the immune system as children that don’t have them are found to have more chronic health problems. See here for some research that suggests so.
I often wonder if they didn’t get those diseases because they were already chronically sick.In the lower levels of health, your immune system cannot raise a strong symptomatic response of fever and rashes to childhood diseases.Homeopaths like George Vithoulkas believe that vaccination works in good part by lowering the level of health to this degree.
Fairly regular events like a bout of flu can be miserable but very detoxing.Vithoulkas believes many things that are demonstrably untrue such as antibiotics don't cure syphilis, merely suppresses it, resulting in tertiary syphilis. Also something about the human race devolving because of "allopathic drugging".
The ideal that childhood diseases are important to development crops up in Anthroposophic medicine but Lloyd eventually links to this document that claims childhood diseases protect against cancer from the Nederlandse Vereniging Kritisch Prikken (NVKP), which is the Dutch equivalent of Arnica Group. NVKP has many lay homeopath members, many of whom also offer CEASE therapy. NVKP would seem better organised/structured than Arnica group.
Lloyd also runs this with Freestone. Both have little concern for advertising regulation and it would not be a surprise if anyone they "advise" ended up in trouble with the ASA or their association. But she also runs the Effective Autism Treatment closed Facebook group with Freestone. This group may have involved Anna Rayner, discussed here, but Rayner would appear to be in Hong Kong at the moment. Lloyd also runs the Effective autism treatment (Practitioner group). closed Facebook group.
Sheilagh Menzies
Menzies website would appear to be defunct. It also seems that she was a member of the SoH but no longer.
Menzies is the leader of Dorking Arnica local group.
Trevor Gunn
Gunn was expelled from the SoH. The reasons aren't exactly clear from the SoH website but it is clear that Gunn was given a chance to accept supervision and continue as a member but did not.
Gunn's About page says -
As a result of this I had to check more and more and then I had to tell people what I’d found, I gave public talks, wrote articles, books, conversed with Vaccine Authorities, Health Departments, Doctors and eventually the World Health Organisation (1991-1995).
Many of my patients are not vaccinated, my own four children the eldest is now 23 have never been vaccinated. I became known for this and as a side-issue people with suspected vaccine damage would bring themselves and their children to me, I would find ways to treat them and got involved first-hand in the difficulties parents had in identifying the problems, recognising the offending issues, obtaining compensation, navigating through the legalities etc. As the expert witness in one of the first vaccine court cases in the UK, the judge ruled in favour of allowing the defending mother to leave her child unvaccinated.
Whilst it is true that Gunn has written articles, books, made DVDs and given public talks, Gunn would not be credible as an expert witness let alone the expert witness. That no sign of this case can be found does not mean that there was not one and that Gunn was not called as a witness but it is difficult to believe that a Court would make a decision to allow a child to remain unvaccinated. Qv Donegan.
One type of case that some times ends up in front of Courts is where parents have separated. One parent (usually the mother) is anti-vaccination, the other is not and applies for an Order for a child/children to be vaccinated. Courts are being asked to rule on what is in the best interests of children and in most cases, they will find that vaccination is in the best interests of a child. This is true in most jurisdictions.
There is a long history of homeopaths exaggerating the level of engagement with public, academic and professional bodies. "I sent an email/letter and got a polite acknowledge back" is not engagement.
Gunn's books are cited by anti-vaccinationists and are sometimes on the "reading lists" of anti-vaccination organisations but it is difficult to know how much "reach" Gunn has. It turns out that some of the content on his website is out of date.

On her About Me page -
Sussex Arnica GroupI help run the Brighton/Sussex Arnica Group, with my friend and colleague Carmel O’Dell (who is also a local homeopath). Arnica is a valuable organisation, run by volunteers, and has been spreading fast, due to demand, since 2007. It offers information, support and a space to openly discuss natural immunity, and natural parenting issues. Our group is small, friendly and informal. All are welcome!
We meet almost monthly (except April, August, December and January). 10-12midday. Venue: 365 Ditchling Rd, Brighton.
Our lively meetings involve tea, much talking and many babies and small children! We usually arrange a speaker on a topic supporting natural immunity or Carmel and I will share homeopathy and natural remedies on a seasonal topics – colds and coughs for example. For more information join our online community ‘Arnica Sussex’ page on Facebook, which is a wealth of information and support, as is www.arnica.org.uk
If you’d like a more private space to discuss the issue of natural immunity and/or vaccination, I offer individual sessions for parents, as does Carmel.
Scanlan's Facebook page contains anti-vaccination propaganda.
